Privacy Policy

Duekeep ("we", "us", the "app") helps you track recurring household maintenance and stocked supplies, and reminds you before things are due. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using Duekeep you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, Apple, or an email sign-in link, we receive your email address and, where available, your display name. We record which sign-in methods are linked to your account.
Content you create. The homes, areas, services (tasks), inventory items, quantities, notes, dates, activity logs, and any product barcodes or product photos you add to organize your household.
Device information for reminders. A push-notification token for your device, so we can send you reminders.
Shared households. If you create or join a shared home, your display name and email are visible to the other members of that home so they can see who they are sharing with.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and Duekeep contains no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

How we use your information

To provide the app: store and sync your data across your devices and household.
To send the reminders and notifications you set up.
To look up product details when you scan a barcode (see below).
To secure accounts and keep one account per email across sign-in methods.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Services we rely on

Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Hosting, and Cloud Functions) stores your data and delivers notifications on our behalf. See Google's privacy policy at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In authenticate you; they receive only what is needed to sign you in.
Open Food Facts / Open Beauty Facts. When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to these free public databases to look up the product name and image. No personal information is sent with the lookup.

Data retention and your choices

Delete your account. In the app, go to Profile → Delete account to permanently delete your account and your data. Homes you share with others are transferred to another member; homes only you use are deleted. This action cannot be undone.
Notifications. You can turn reminders off at any time in Settings, or in your device's system settings.
Access and corrections. You can view and edit the content you create directly in the app.

We keep your information for as long as your account exists or as needed to provide the app, unless a longer period is required by law.

Security

Your data is stored with Google Firebase and access is restricted by security rules so that only you and the members of your shared homes can read the relevant data. Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

Duekeep is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
